Corporate History

The history of AKTIO Corporation.

1967 Shin Denki Co., Ltd. established in Nishigahara, Kita-ku, Tokyo with a capital of 1.5 million yen. Begins rental service of submersible pumps.
1972 Construction of head office building and maintenance shop completed in Kasai, Edogawa-ku. Capital increased to 20 million yen. Kansai Branch opened. Hiratsuka Technical Center opened. Construction of Kansai Branch’s Osaka Factory completed. Capital increased to 99 million yen.
1977 Tohoku Branch and Kanetsu Branch opened. Rental services for caisson construction and mud shield construction are enhanced. Construction of General Maintenance Factory completed in Chiba. Head office relocated to Nihombashi-kakigara-cho, Chuo-ku. Capital increased to 326 million yen.
1982 Capital increased to 397.66 million yen. Head office relocated to Iwamoto-cho, Chiyoda-ku. Shin Denki Rental Singapore Co., Ltd. and Nagano Shin Denki Co., Ltd. are established.
1987 Information Systems Division opened. Capital increased to 550 million yen. Shin Denki Shikoku Rental Co., Ltd. established. Yamanashi Kenki Rental Co, Ltd. established. Noda Lift Center opened. Capital increased to 750 million yen.
1991 Corporate names of Shin Denki Co., Ltd., Nagano Shin Denki Co., Ltd., Shin Denki Shikoku Rental Co., Ltd. are changed to AKTIO Corporation, AKTIO Nagano Corporation, AKTIO Chu-Shikoku Corporation respectively. Capital increased to 3.15 billion yen.
1993 Capital tie-up formed with Plaza Co., Ltd. Tokyo Distribution Center, Shinkiba Branch, Haneda Branch, Momoishi Branch Factory opened.
1994 Kyushu Branch and Hokkaido Branch opened.
1995 Corporate name of Yamanashi Kenki Rental Co, Ltd. changed to AKTIO Koshin Corporation. With the occurrence of the Great Hanshin Earthquake, headquarters for countermeasures are established to provide 24-hour service for reconstruction. 15 million marks worth of Deutsche mark-based straight bond issued. 14 million francs worth of Swiss franc-based straight bond issued.
1996 Capital increased to 564.5 million yen. Merger agreement signed with Matsumoto Machinery Co., Ltd.
1997 Hakusan Center, Minami-Azabu Center opened. Hatano Nakai Factory constructed.
1998 AKTIO Transport Corporation established.
1998 Tokyo Branch and Tokyo Sales Office relocated to head-office building.
2000 Techno E Co., Ltd. established. Merger with AKTIO Chu-Shikoku Corporation. Restructured into Shikoku Branch and Hiroshima Branch. Shinryo Techno Co., Ltd. established.
2001 Merger of AKTIO Nagano Corporation and AKTIO Koshin Corporation. Nagano Branch and Yamanashi Branch are restructured under AKTIO Koshin Corporation. Construction of Techno Park Factory completed. Communication System & Surveying Instruments Dept. acquires ISO 9001 certification. Launches Library Net. Business tie-up formed with Nishitetsu Kenki Co., Ltd. Capital participation in OSAKA RENTAL CO., LTD.
2002 Capital participation in ANY-X CO., LTD. Takes over Tsuyama Sales Office from Suiden Lease Co., Ltd. Takes over WORLD TEC Co., Ltd. Techno Park Factory acquires environmental management standard ISO 14001 certification. Capital participation in Setouchi Kenki Lease Co., Ltd.
2003 Capital participation in Thaitec Rental Co., Ltd. Office established in Shanghai, China. Capital participation in Koyo Kenki Lease Co., Ltd. Capital participation in Dendosha Co., Ltd. Capital participation in Ken Oh Co., Ltd. Capital participation in Matsumoto Rental Co., Ltd. Capital participation in Tsuruoka Kenki Co., Ltd.
2004 Capital participation in Kenki Lease Service Co., Ltd. Capital participation in Sainichi Co., Ltd.
2005 In 2005 we merged our affiliate company "Aktio Koshin" and recomposed it as "Nagano branch" and "Yamanashi branch."
Rental Car Centre Opened.
To support 2004's Chuetsu Earthquake reconstruction in Nigata prefecture, we opened "Ojiya branch" and support devastated area to reconstruct precociously.
2006 Thanksgiving events were held throughout our branches for 40th anniversary of the establishment of Aktio Corporation.
First 3-year plan of operational improvement was completed. Development of new computer system was launched.
29 new branches were opened including Fukuoka Higashi branch which started in January.
2007 Relocated the head office to Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
Capital participation to Chigasaki Rental Co., Ltd.
Capital increased to 6,584.5 million yen.
New computer system launched.
2008 AI-TEC MACHINERY Co, Ltd. established.
"Rensulting Fair" was held in Fukuoka,Osaka,Tokyo,Sendai.
